Position Summary

The Wholesale Motor Fuels Territory Manager is accountable for commercial performance, dealer relationships, and operational execution in an assigned geography. The role drives gallon growth, margin performance, contract compliance, brand standards, and partner satisfaction.

This is a field‑based role with accountability to specific KPIs that support Chestnut Fuels’ position as a preferred wholesale fuel partner.

Key Responsibilities

Territory & Dealer Management

  • Serve as primary relationship manager for all dealer and operator‑owned locations.
  • Conduct site visits to ensure operational standards, branding consistency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build trust with partners through proactive, reliable communication.
  • Identify at‑risk accounts and resolve service issues quickly.

Volume, Margin & Revenue Growth

  • Deliver gallon growth and gross margin goals.
  • Support contract renewals, extensions, and long‑term agreements.
  • Execute disciplined pricing strategies.
  • Identify new business opportunities including new sites and relets.

Operational Execution

  • Prevent runouts through coordination with supply and logistics.
  • Track daily/weekly performance and report variances.
  • Support site openings, rebrands, and transitions.
  • Maintain accurate site and contract documentation.

Brand Standards & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with a hands-on approach to all Major Oil Company programs and standards.
  • Support mystery shop performance and corrective actions.
  • Implement loyalty and promotional programs with marketing.

Reporting & KPIs

  • Maintain accurate reporting across volumes, margins, and account actions.
  • Participate in weekly KPI reviews with ownership of:
    • Gallon growth & retention
    • Margin & EBITDA contribution
    • Dealer satisfaction
    • Mystery shop & brand compliance
    • Reporting accuracy & timeliness

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years in wholesale fuels, petroleum marketing, or convenience retail.
  • Strong understanding of DTW, open supply, branded and unbranded models.
  • Experience working with Major Oil Companies and compliance programs.
  • Proven relationship management and territory‑growth track record.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a field‑based role.

Travel Requirements

  • Regular travel within assigned territory
  • Occasional overnight travel for training, brand meetings, and operational needs
