Job Description
We are looking for a Manager, Annual Fund to join our client, Canada's first fully digital hospital, known as the leader in digital health. This role will be responsible for driving annual fund revenue through integrated, multi-channel direct response campaigns.
This role leads the planning, execution, and performance of the Foundation’s annual giving programs, including direct mail and digital fundraising, and oversees several key initiatives.
With a strong focus on revenue growth and audience expansion, the Manager is accountable for identifying, engaging, and converting new donor segments through effective direct response strategies, while strengthening retention and lifetime value of existing supporters. The role works in collaboration with Marketing & Communications to ensure campaigns are aligned with brand and messaging, while maintaining a clear focus on fundraising performance and results.
Key AccountabilitiesStrategy & Revenue Performance
- Develops and manages the Annual Fund budget, setting revenue and expense projections with year-over-year growth.
- Owns annual revenue targets across all channels, establishing KPIs and tracking ROI to optimize performance.
- Drives a culture of innovation by testing new tactics and leveraging AI-enabled tools for personalization and segmentation.
Direct Response & Program Oversight
- Leads integrated direct mail and digital campaigns, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and fundraising goals.
- Oversees 4 key programs and will be responsible for strategic recommendations to evolve and grow the programs.
- Manages an always-on digital strategy, coordinating email, paid media, and social efforts to complement direct mail.
Audience Development & Data Insights
- Collaborates with Database and IT teams to implement advanced segmentation and predictive donor insights.
- Develops lead generation and acquisition strategies to expand the Foundation’s supporter base.
- Provides regular performance reporting and actionable insights to leadership and the Board.
Agency & Relationship Management
- Primary lead for external direct response agencies, providing strategic direction and ensuring accountability to timelines and budgets.
- Works cross-functionally with Marketing, Communications, and Donor Systems teams to ensure a seamless donor experience.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in annual giving, direct response fundraising, or performance-based marketing roles in an nonprofit organization.
- Demonstrated success managing and optimizing direct response campaigns (direct mail and digital) with measurable revenue results.
- Experience in audience segmentation, donor acquisition, and lead generation strategies.
- Experience managing external agencies, with ability to provide strategic direction and hold partners accountable.
- Proven ability to independently manage a portfolio of programs and deliver against revenue targets.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Data-driven decision making and campaign performance optimization
- Experience leveraging or exploring data-driven and AI-enabled tools is an asset.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Results-oriented, proactive, and highly accountable.
- Experience in healthcare fundraising is an asset.
