Box Truck Driver in Howell, Michigan at Linacast, Inc.

Linamar - Howell is hiring a box truck driver. The truck has a capacity of at least 26,000 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW).

Responsibilities

· Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.

· Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods.

· Loads own truck with hi-lo

· Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure. Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.

· Observes safety rules and company polices for loading, unloading and transportation of goods.

· Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.

· Compliance with all motor vehicle regulations and traffic laws.

· Complies with delivery instructions; maintains strict adherence to customers' rules at work site.

· Follows paperwork procedures and signature verification policies to confirm receipt of goods.

· Scanning and tagging outgoing material

· Shipping and Receiving dock responsibilities

· Other duties as required

Academic Requirements

High school diploma or GED required

Required Skills & Experience

Operating Vehicles, Mechanized Devices, or Equipment — Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts and passenger vehicles

Vehicle inspection – identify the vehicle and list any defects or deficiencies discovered by or reported to the driver, which could affect the safety of operation of the vehicle or result in a mechanical breakdown

Familiar with Microsoft Office

Valid Commercial Driver’s License required Class B
