Position Summary:
The Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and enforcing all safety policies and procedures for Central Florida Traffic Control operations. This role ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations while promoting a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
The Safety Supervisor works closely with field crews, project managers, and leadership to minimize risk, prevent incidents, and maintain a safe working environment for both employees and the public. This position also plays a key role in managing the company’s overall safety program, training
initiatives, and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily and random job site inspections and safety audits.
- Ensure all traffic control setups meet FDOT standards, MUTCD guidelines, and company safety requirements.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
- Investigate incidents including vehicle crashes, injuries, and near-misses.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and communicate findings to leadership.
- Maintain OSHA logs (300, 300A) and EMR tracking.
- Train employees on traffic control procedures, PPE usage, and hazard recognition.
- Conduct new hire orientation and flagger certification training.
- Maintain training records and safety documentation.
- Lead and manage the company safety program, including policy development and annual reviews.
- Maintain Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) documentation and ensure proper completion.
- Inspect equipment, vehicles, trailers, and MOT devices for safety compliance.
- Maintain PPE inventory and safety supply levels.
- Perform vehicle inspections and maintain maintenance records.
- Conduct job site safety checks and communicate findings.
- Respond to after-hours incidents and perform night audits as needed.
- Maintain professional communication with clients, subcontractors, and employees.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in temporary traffic control preferred.
- Knowledge of FDOT, MUTCD, and OSHA standards.
- OSHA certification preferred.
- Valid Florida driver’s license.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments.
Work Environment:
- Field-based role in roadway and construction environments.
- Exposure to traffic and varying weather conditions.
- Travel required throughout Central Florida.
- Flexible hours including nights and weekends.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and work outdoors for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and handle equipment.

The pay range for this role is:
55,000 - 80,000 USD per year(Winter Haven Branch)
