Field Supervisor – Structural & Miscellaneous Metals Installation
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Starting Rate: $32.00/hour (higher based on experience)
Perks: Company truck and fuel card provided
Work Area: Candidates should be based near Georgetown, DE; Sterling, VA; Baltimore, MD; or Washington, DC

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Field Supervisor to lead installation crews working on stairs, railings, and other fabricated metal components. This role is responsible for overseeing daily job site operations, ensuring installations meet quality standards, and maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on metals experience along with leadership capability to manage crews and coordinate with project stakeholders in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct field crews performing installation of stairs, railings, and miscellaneous metal structures
  • Coordinate daily site activities with general contractors and other trades
  • Review blueprints and layout plans to ensure accurate installation
  • Plan daily work, including labor, materials, and equipment needs
  • Verify worker certifications and enforce all safety requirements on site
  • Complete daily reports, including field logs and vehicle inspections
  • Oversee the condition and usage of tools, equipment, and company vehicles
  • Act as the primary safety lead on-site, ensuring proper PPE and adherence to job-specific safety plans
  • Conduct toolbox talks and reinforce safe work practices
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with miscellaneous metals (preferred)
  • Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and safety documentation
  • Solid math skills, including measurements, angles, and layout calculations
  • Knowledge of AWS D1.1 standards and common welding methods (SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW)
  • Current welding certifications or ability to pass a weld test
