This role sits at the center of audit governance and operational compliance, ensuring that internal and external audit activities are executed accurately, efficiently, and in full alignment with regulatory and contractual requirements. You will lead a team responsible for coordinating audit processes, from planning and documentation to execution and reporting, while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration across departments. The position requires a balance of leadership, analytical thinking, and regulatory awareness to identify risks, ensure audit readiness, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Acting as a key liaison between auditors and internal stakeholders, you will help translate complex findings into actionable insights and corrective measures. This is a high-impact role where attention to detail, organization, and communication directly support compliance excellence and operational integrity. You will also contribute to improving audit frameworks and enhancing customer and business outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Lead and supervise a team of Compliance Support Specialists by assigning tasks, setting deadlines, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing coaching and training.
- Oversee the full audit lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, coordination, execution, documentation, and post-audit tracking activities.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external auditors to ensure clear communication and timely resolution of audit inquiries.
- Ensure all audit documentation is accurately prepared, maintained, and stored, including findings, evidence, and compliance records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure timely and accurate data collection aligned with audit scope and objectives.
- Analyze audit results to identify trends, risks, and operational improvement opportunities, and develop corrective action plans.
- Prepare audit reports, dashboards, and executive-level summaries to communicate findings and recommendations to management.
- Support regulatory awareness and ensure adherence to applicable laws, contractual obligations, and internal compliance standards.
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience supporting or managing audits, preferably within a regulated or contract-driven environment.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience (additional experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of audit processes, compliance frameworks, and regulatory standards such as TCPA, SCRA, FCRA, and CFPB guidelines.
- Experience in the student loan servicing or similar regulated industry strongly preferred.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical abilities with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to obtain and maintain required U.S. suitability clearance (5C).
- Competitive annual salary: $50,000 – $60,000
