This senior leadership role sits at the intersection of healthcare operations, advanced analytics, and strategic decision-making within a large, complex organization. As Associate VP, Clinical Operations Analytics, you will define and lead the analytics vision supporting utilization management, care management, and clinical operations performance. You will oversee a large, multidisciplinary analytics organization and partner closely with executive leaders to drive insight-led transformation across the enterprise. The role requires a strong blend of strategic thinking, operational fluency, and advanced analytical expertise, including the application of operations research and decision science. You will be responsible for turning complex data into actionable, prescriptive insights that improve cost, quality, and member outcomes. This is a highly visible role for a leader who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys scaling both teams and analytical capabilities.
- Define and execute the clinical operations analytics strategy and roadmap aligned with enterprise and clinical priorities
- Lead a large analytics organization (70+ professionals), fostering a high-performance, consultative, and insight-driven culture
- Partner with clinical, operational, and executive leadership to redesign performance management and decision-making frameworks using data
- Oversee end-to-end analytics including KPI design, performance reporting, predictive modeling, and scenario-based analysis
- Apply operations research and decision science methodologies to optimize trade-offs across cost, quality, access, and experience
- Lead the development of root-cause analysis and strategic insights to improve utilization and care management performance
- Identify and evaluate AI and advanced analytics opportunities, translating them into actionable operational insights in collaboration with enterprise teams
- Establish scalable analytics operating models, governance frameworks, and prioritization processes
- Ensure executive-ready storytelling and insight delivery that drives business decisions and measurable outcomes
- Build and develop analytics talent, strengthening technical depth, business acumen, and leadership capabilities across teams
Requirements:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in analytics, strategy, operations, or management consulting with increasing leadership responsibility
- Proven experience leading large analytics or data organizations (50+ professionals) in complex, matrixed environments
- Deep understanding of healthcare payer operations, particularly utilization management and care management
- Strong expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, forecasting, and performance management frameworks
- Experience applying operations research, optimization, or decision science methodologies to complex business problems
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and drive enterprise-wide strategic initiatives
- Strong executive communication skills with ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights
- Hands-on experience with modern analytics ecosystems, including BI tools and cloud-based data platforms
- Experience in consulting or similar high-rigor analytical environments is highly preferred
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their application in operational or healthcare contexts is a strong plus
