Grand Central Bakery is seeking bakers for our high-volume production bakery to produce thousands of our flavor-packed rustic breads and savory pastries for our customers! No experience necessary, we are willing to train!
Applicants for the Bread Baker position should have a passion for baking artisan bread in a high-volume production environment for our community. The Bread Baker thrives in a fast-paced environment with a team first approach and has a desire to develop their artisan bakery skills. This is a physical position that will keep you moving during the entirety of a shift.
The Baker 1 is responsible for learning to produce high quality artisan baked goods while maintaining efficiency and adhering FSMA requirements. This position requires an attention to detail, a desire to continually improve upon one’s skills as a production baker, and an ability to work cooperatively in a production level team environment. We are willing and able to train enthusiastic candidates with no or limited baking experience!

Rate of Pay: $23.57/hour
Schedule requirements: Grand Central Bakery operates 7 days a week/365 days a year. Schedule flexibility and the ability to work weekends is required. Part-time. This position works nights.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Maintains food handler’s card – new hires are expected to have a valid card by their first date of work
- Working knowledge of and ability to speak and understand basic English preferred
- Basic math skills required
- Ability and readiness to stand for eight-hour shifts and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- 1+ year(s) professional baking experience preferred (not required)
- Must have reliable transportation
Physical requirements include but are not limited to:
- Bakers are required to stand for 100% of their shift.
- Walking up to the equivalent of two miles per shift and may require carrying up to 30 lbs.
- Working in warm environments. The production facility is constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye, corn, oat).
