About the Role:
The Purchasing Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and streamlining the procurement process to ensure timely acquisition of goods and services essential for business operations. This position involves coordinating with suppliers, internal departments, and logistics teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and support production schedules. The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for negotiating terms, tracking orders, and resolving any issues related to purchasing activities to minimize delays and cost overruns. By maintaining accurate records and analyzing purchasing data, the coordinator contributes to strategic decision-making and continuous improvement of procurement practices. Ultimately, this role ensures that the organization’s purchasing needs are met efficiently, supporting overall operational success and financial performance.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain coordination.
- Proficiency with purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance standards.
- Ability to analyze data to support cost-saving initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Manage purchase orders from initiation through to delivery, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Communicate regularly with suppliers to confirm order status, negotiate pricing, and resolve discrepancies or delays.
- Collaborate with internal departments such as production, finance, and inventory management to forecast purchasing needs and schedule deliveries.
- Maintain and update procurement records, including vendor information, contracts, and purchase histories.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse staff to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Assist in supplier evaluation and selection processes to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare reports on purchasing activities, costs, and supplier performance for management review.
- Support the implementation of procurement best practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Purchasing Coordinator utilizes strong organizational and communication skills daily to coordinate effectively between suppliers and internal teams, ensuring smooth procurement operations. Location Requirements:
- This position requires full-time, on-site presence at our Midland, TX (79707 & 79706) facilities.
- The standard schedule is Monday – Friday; occasionally weekend work may be needed.
- Due to the nature of this position, there may be days when more than 8 hours is required. This position is eligible for overtime.
