Clark University invites applications to fill a full-time, one-year visiting assistant professor appointment for AY 2026-27, 3:3 teaching load, in-person instruction on the Worcester campus beginning August 2026.
We welcome applications from instructors who can teach Introduction to Sociology and offer courses in one or more of the following areas: gender and sexuality studies, environment, popular culture, deviance, peace and war. Other areas will also be considered.
Job Requirements:
Required:
- Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely related field by August 2026 (strong ABD candidates considered).
- Preferred: Evidence of strong teaching effectiveness; experience teaching Introduction to Sociology; ability to teach in one or more of the listed areas above.
Additional Information:
Expected Hiring Range: $ 58,000 to $62,000

The compensation for this position will be determined based on factors that include available budget, internal equity, and the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, education, and other job-related credentials. This range represents Clark University's good-faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting consistent with Clark's compensation philosophy and internal alignment.
