Now Hiring: Maintenance Service Worker I & II - Parks (Competition #26-02)
Parkland County has temporary, full-time positions available for Maintenance Service Worker I & II– Parks working from approximately May to the end of August 2026. Reporting to the Supervisor, Parks, the Maintenance Service Workers I & II- Parks are responsible for the general and preventative maintenance and project work relating to all parks, cemeteries, and greenspace of Parkland County owned properties throughout the County. These positions will perform manual labour, operate light equipment and maintain established maintenance standards including landscaping tasks, playground upkeep, and servicing public use facilities. These positions will be required to work independently and in a team environment to ensure service to the public is provided in an efficient and courteous manner.
Previous experience working for Parkland County in Parks Maintenance with satisfactory performance and demonstrated commitment to safety is required for the Maintenance Service Worker II – Parks classification.
The ideal candidate would have the following:
An hourly rate of pay of $28.10 (MSW I) to $29.66 (MSW II) based on 40 hours per week with flexible scheduling as required.

- Experience operating light-duty vehicles, grass mowing and trimming equipment, chainsaws and other light tools.
- Ability to problem solve and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Have a strong understanding of safe work practices for working with hazardous materials.
- Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License. A current Driver’s Abstract must be provided at own expense, upon hire.
- Standard First Aid with CPR is considered an asset.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- General construction labour experience is an asset.
