About This Position
Systems Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation and maintenance of electronic equipment sites, including cabinet structures, grounding systems, DC power systems, environmental control systems, security systems, cabling, and the installation and configuration of electronics systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Site Setup and Configuration
- Install remote electronics cabinet sites and structures, including local grounding systems.
- Install and maintain DC power systems, ensuring proper operation and power distribution.
- Install and configure electronics equipment, including routers, switches, and other networking equipment.
- Implement and maintain environmental control systems to ensure optimal operating conditions.
- Install and configure security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and surveillance systems.
- Install and manage all cabling for systems and components.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on all installed systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues as needed.
- Monitor system performance and provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare and present reports on system performance, issues, and resolutions.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical guides.
- Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with other engineering teams, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users and team members as needed.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve system operations.
Qualifications:
- Preferred history of applicable work experience success with a related field being considered.
- Proven experience in setting up and maintaining electronic sites, including routers, switches, DC power systems, cabling, environmental controls, and security systems.
- Strong knowledge of site grounding, DC power, network technologies, systems hardware and software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with network management and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electronic site setup and maintenance.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to travel to various site locations as needed.
- Willingness to work in diverse environments, including data centers, field sites, and office settings.
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, including nights and weekends, if necessary.
