About This Position
Group Swim Instructor
Essential functions and responsibilities
- Teach swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying swimming abilities.
- Assisting more experienced swimmers to enhance their swimming abilities.
- Assessing the progress of students and adjusting teaching programs accordingly.
- Monitoring students to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensuring that the swimming pool is clean and tidy.
- It is expected that a swim instructor will also provide coverage as a pool attendant or lifeguard.
Job requirements
- Current Lifeguard Certification Preferred
- Current Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR/AED Certification Required
- Red Cross Aquatics Safety Training or Lifeguard Certification required within 30 days of hire
- Sound knowledge of proper swimming techniques and water safety rules.
