About This Position

BOILER OPER/MAINT

  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Education
      • High school graduate or equivalent with ability to make simple mathematical computations as required.
    • Experience
      • Two (2) years of experience in general maintenance, associated with hospital surroundings, working knowledge of boilers and related boiler room equipment. Must have current boiler license and/or eligible to become licensed as required by the state. Employee must be licensed 6 months after completion of entry level period.
    • Physical
      • This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information.
      • Noisy, dirty environment. Close proximity to high pressure steam equipment. Close eye work. Color perception. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Standing, walking in limited area. Pushes and pulls levers and other controls. Lifting, carrying with assistance up to 100 lbs. , Pushing/Pulling up to 200 lbs.
  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Primarily responsible for maintaining buildings and equipment in good repair, making appropriate inspections, installations, and repairs. Familiar with firing and operation of high pressure steam boilers and related equipment.
