About This Position
Job Summary:
The Executive Chef will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations of our Milton's Cuisine and Cocktails restaurant. They will be responsible for creating and implementing menus, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards. The Executive Chef will also be responsible for managing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and implement menus that are innovative and appealing to customers
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling
- Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards
- Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and serviced
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all food service needs are met
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and ingredients into menu offerings
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as an Executive Chef or similar role
- Experience managing a team of kitchen staff
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and ingredients
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
Prolonged Standing and Walking
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8–12+ hours per shift), often without breaks.
Lifting and Carrying
Frequently lift and carry items up to 50 pounds, including food deliveries, equipment, and bulk ingredients.
Repetitive Motions
Continuous use of hands and arms for chopping, stirring, plating, and operating kitchen equipment.
Bending, Stooping, and Reaching
Regularly bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching overhead to access storage areas, ovens, and low shelves.
Manual Dexterity
Strong knife skills and precise hand-eye coordination for food preparation and plating.
Heat and Environmental Exposure
Ability to work in hot, humid, and high-pressure kitchen environments, including exposure to open flames, hot surfaces, and steam.
Mobility and Agility
Quick, coordinated movement in tight spaces to manage a busy kitchen safely and efficiently.
Endurance and Stamina
Capacity to maintain high energy and focus throughout long shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Visual and Sensory Ability
Ability to see clearly (near and far), distinguish colors, and assess food quality, presentation, and safety.
Hearing and Communication
Ability to hear and respond to verbal instructions in a loud, fast-paced environment.
