Morales Beverage Group of South Carolina seeks an Operations Supervisor for the Columbia, SC location. We have a competitive compensation package with a wide range of benefits for full-time employees.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the General Manager (GM) of MBG SC, the Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse and transportation operations, including order fulfillment, inventory management, route planning, and delivery execution. This role ensures products are handled, stored, and delivered safely, accurately, and on time while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulations.

The Operations Supervisor leads and develops warehouse and driver teams, supports performance management, and monitors fleet, equipment, and operational efficiency. Additional responsibilities include resolving operational issues, controlling costs, and driving continuous improvement to support high levels of customer satisfaction.

This role requires strong leadership, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Leadership & Development:

Supervise and lead warehouse associates, drivers, and transportation personnel, including interviewing, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions.Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing development to enhance team productivity and engagement.Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Warehouse & Transportation Operations:

Oversee daily warehouse and transportation operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company standards.Coordinate order fulfillment, product handling, staging, loading/unloading, and delivery execution.Step in to support warehouse or delivery functions as needed.

Route Planning & Delivery Execution:

Plan, schedule, and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and cost-effective service.Monitor delivery performance and driver productivity, identifying opportunities for improvement.Allocate labor, equipment, and resources to meet operational demands.

Inventory Handling & Equipment Operation:

Ensure accurate labeling, product selection, and pallet configuration according to company procedures.Oversee safe operation of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and handheld devices.Maintain proper product storage across varying warehouse environments, including temperature-controlled areas.

Fleet & Equipment Management:

Oversee maintenance, inspections, and safe operation of fleet vehicles and warehouse equipment.Coordinate repairs and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.Track and monitor key metrics such as fuel usage, equipment performance, and vehicle utilization.

Safety, Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:

Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and DOT regulations.Monitor safety practices, conduct training, and enforce adherence to hours-of-service and workplace safety requirements.Maintain accurate records for inspections, driver logs, and compliance documentation.Identify and report unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are taken.

Customer Service & Issue Resolution:

Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through reliable and accurate deliveries.Address and resolve customer concerns, delivery issues, and operational disruptions in a timely manner.Act as the primary point of contact for operational emergencies or logistical challenges.

Financial Oversight & Cost Control:

Assist in managing operational budgets, including transportation and warehouse expenses.Monitor costs related to labor, fuel, maintenance, and supplies.Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service quality.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement:

Prepare and analyze reports on operational performance, including delivery metrics, safety, and productivity.Use data to identify trends, improve processes, and drive operational efficiency.Communicate updates, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.

Meetings & Communication:

Attend and participate in required company meetings.Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, customer service, and leadership teams to ensure alignment and performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Professional with a positive attitude, great organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a highly competitive environment.Ability to establish working relationships with accounts in the territory and aggressively grow and expand territory.Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a proven track record of achieving sales and profit goals, distribution objectives, and creating positive relationships.Must possess a cell phone, dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license, proof of state registration and insurance, and an acceptable driving record.Open to working occasional weekend hours.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Frequent physical activity includes sitting, typing/keyboarding, walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping.Must have the ability to repetitively lift, pull, and push up to 100 pounds, reach above head height, stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach.Frequently reach up to 72 inches and constantly bend and twist while operating a pallet jack and/or forklift and retrieving items from lower shelves.Ability to climb ladders or access items stored on high shelves or racks.Use of hands for tasks such as scanning barcodes, operating warehouse management systems, machinery, or writing reports.Good hand-eye coordination for safely managing inventory and operating equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.Capacity to remain active throughout the day, walking the warehouse floor, supervising staff, and maintaining organization.Good vision for reading labels, verifying inventory, and overseeing operations, with the ability to hear safety alarms or detect potential issues.Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including refrigerated areas or hot and humid spaces.

REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 21 years of age.High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.Minimum of 1–3 years of warehouse, distribution, or general operations experience preferred.At least 1–3 years of leadership or supervisory experience required; 3+ years in warehouse or distribution leadership is a plus.Experience with routing systems, ERP, or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) required.Transportation, delivery, or local route experience preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and mobile device platforms; experience using GPS systems preferred.Strong leadership, communication, time management, and customer service skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams.Hold a valid and current Class B driver’s license and ensure reliable, insured transportation is maintained.Driving record must be within MVR policy guidelines throughout employment.Must be able to pass a background and drug screening for hire and randomly throughout employment.Strong time management, customer service, and communication skills. Proficiency in using GPS systems and operating multiple mobile device platforms.This role requires flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed. Each employee is assigned a regular start time on their first day, which remains in effect unless the role or schedule changes due to business need. When possible, schedule changes will be communicated at least one week in advance. Employees are expected to stay until all assigned duties are completed.
