About This Position
CSS is hiring an HVAC Technician in Merritt Island, FL.
Duties:
Performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning
systems. Installs new units or replacement parts for existing units according to
specifications and established safety guidelines. Requires a high school diploma or its
equivalent. Has knowledge of common-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a
particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the
functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
Responsibilities:
Provide maintenance and basic service repairs for heating, air conditioning and
ventilating systems in an effective and efficient manner.
Perform preventive maintenance per the manufacturer's schedule and
maintenance instruction manual
Interact and cooperate effectively with customer, contracted services personnel, and
building staff. Must be able to perform in a highly integrated team environment.
Assist in maintaining up-to-date files, equipment specifications, and maintenance logs
as it pertains to HVAC and mechanical equipment.
Respond to building emergencies as directed.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience with HVAC services
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools, and read digital meters and voltage testers.
- Understand basic electrical and wiring in a commercial building setting.
- Must be able to work at heights - lifts, scaffolding, and ladders
- Possess good written and verbal communication skills
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
- The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds to 100 pounds. Th employee will work both in/outdoors.
- Pass a background check and drug test.
- Prior work experience in an industrial environment is a plus.
Educational Background
- High School Diploma combined with relevant work experience.
- Must possess valid EPA Universal Certification
- May be required to meet additional certifications in field.
