About This Position
Citizens State Bank is seeking a Business Development Officer to be responsible for developing banking strategies, building client relationships, and driving business growth within the banking sector.
Position Overview:
The Business Development Officer is responsible for acquisition, retention and expansion of new and existing personal banking customer relationships and will primarily be working outside the office. The perfect candidate will have a passion for supporting Women Owned Small Businesses across all our locations of the bank and act as a resource and advocate for women entrepreneurs, connecting them with relevant resources and already have a large network in the Carmel community. The successful candidate will continue to drive profitability and effectively promote banking products and services while also growing our Women’s Initiative and building excitement among women business owners in the community
Primary Duties:
- Spearhead our Women’s Initiative for the organization: schedule luncheons and monthly meetings with guest speaker and an agenda that supports women owned businesses and growth
- Participate in community initiatives and networking events to promote the bank's services and build connections with women entrepreneurs and support organizations.
- Manage, maintain, and grow existing loan and deposit portfolios
- Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
- Cold calling businesses to secure initial appointments.
- Maintain current client relationship and identifying areas for potential clients.
- Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
- Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
- Research the latest in the business industry and creating new opportunities to expand business.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Mortgage Loan Originators, and Treasury Management Officers to ensure requirements are met such as sales numbers and profit goals.
- Strong understanding of company’s banking products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive.
- Builds a thorough profile for each customer and maintains frequent personal, phone or email contact to grow and deepen customer relationships.
- Provides exceptional customer service by taking ownership of the customer experience from introducing the customer to Citizens State Bank through profiling the customer, assessing their banking and borrowing needs, and recommending appropriate products based on a thorough knowledge of CSB products and services.
- Business development will be accomplished through an aggressive sales effort resulting in quality growth of accounts
- Local travel required. Valid driver's license, vehicle, and liability insurance are required.
Requirements:
- Successful relationship driven business professional in client facing service, sales or marketing positions with a strong passion for supporting Women Owned Small Businesses.
- Highly social and engaging person who enjoys organizing and meeting new people
- Bachelor’s degree and/or five years of outside business development.
- Experience in a financial institution is preferred.
- Proven communication, research, organizational, and public relation skills
