Description:

Position Summary:

The Behavioral Aide (BA) provides community-based behavioral health support services to children, adolescents, and families receiving services through CHRIS 180. This position supports the delivery of trauma-informed, evidence-based services designed to strengthen family stability, improve behavioral functioning, and promote resilience among youth and families.

The Behavioral Aide works directly with consumers in their homes, schools, and community settings to reinforce positive behaviors, develop coping and life skills, and support treatment goals outlined in the Individualized Recovery and Resiliency Plan (IRRP). The BA collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and caregivers to ensure coordinated care and positive outcomes for consumers.

Role and Responsibilities:

· Provide positive role modeling to consumers and families.

· Promote self-esteem, confidence, and healthy decision-making skills.

· Reinforce appropriate social behaviors including manners, safety awareness, and healthy routines.

· Promote healthy boundaries and positive interpersonal relationships.

· Encourage proper hygiene and appropriate personal appearance among youth and young adults.

· Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to support behavior change.

· Support treatment goals through knowledge and application of the Seven Challenges program.

· Assist consumers in recognizing emotional triggers and developing strategies to manage behaviors related to stressors or behavioral health symptoms.

· Assist consumers in developing coping, interpersonal, and functional life skills needed for success at home, school, and within the community.

· Support personal development, school performance, work performance, and family functioning through coaching and skill building.

· Maintain required contact with consumers receiving Community Support services, including a minimum of two contacts per month.

· Ensure at least one contact per month is conducted face-to-face with the consumer.

· Deliver at least 50% of service units face-to-face with the consumer.

· Ensure that at least 80% of face-to-face service units occur in community-based settings.

· Manage assigned caseload in accordance with program expectations.

· Provide trauma-informed support services consistent with CHRIS 180 standards of care.

· Support consumers and caregivers in understanding behavioral health conditions and self-management strategies.

· Assist consumers and families in preventing or managing crisis situations.

· Utilize preventative intervention strategies when necessary to maintain safety.

· Supervise or observe consumers receiving Behavioral Aide services when instructed and in accordance with the IRRP.

· Assist consumers with transportation to designated activities when authorized and appropriate.

Collaborative Partnerships:

· Participate in team meetings related to consumers receiving services.

· Collaborate with internal CHRIS 180 programs to ensure coordinated service delivery.

· Work with external agencies and providers to support comprehensive care for consumers.

· Make appropriate referrals to community resources addressing health, education, employment, and social service needs.

· Attend required meetings including RBWO meetings and Child and Family Team Meetings (CFTM), or provide written updates when necessary.

· Advocate for consumers and families when coordinating services with external organizations.

Documentation and Compliance

· Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services in accordance with CHRIS 180 policies and regulatory requirements.

· Complete billing documentation and service notes as required.

· Maintain detailed client files in compliance with organizational and state standards.

· Protect the confidentiality of consumers and families at all times.

· Adhere to CHRIS 180 Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, and applicable Georgia regulations.

· Maintain all required certifications and training and submit documentation to Human Resources as required.

Community-Based Service Delivery

· Provide services in community settings including homes, schools, neighborhoods, and public housing communities.

· Support outreach and engagement efforts within the community.

· Maintain flexibility in providing services across programs, grants, and contracts including MAAC, PSSF, CCFA, SOC, and Wraparound services.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Must be at least 21 years of age.

· Valid driver’s license in the State of Georgia with reliable transportation.

· Ability to travel throughout the community to provide services.

Preferred Qualifications

· Associate or bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, social work, psychology, or a related field.

· Experience working with children, adolescents, and families experiencing behavioral or emotional challenges.

· Experience working with severely emotionally disturbed youth or at-risk populations preferred.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. Work schedules may include evenings and occasional weekends depending on consumer needs. Employees must be available to work at least two evenings per week, as many families prefer after-school or evening services.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, employees may be required to:

· Sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

· Drive to community service locations.

· Occasionally lift or move items up to 20 pounds.
