Currency Exchange International is currently seeking a Full-Time Regional Manager to join our Retail team. This position would operate out of our branch located at the Fashion Island in Newport Beach, CA whilst overseeing 6 branch locations.
Summary: The Regional Manager is responsible for providing leadership, operational oversight, and support to all CXI retail branch locations within an assigned geographical region. This role oversees the Branch Managers and their direct reports and serves as the primary liaison between branch operations and Retail Management. The Regional Manager ensures that each branch operates at full performance potential and that all Branch Managers consistently adhere to CXI policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
The Regional Manager is also responsible for effectively managing their own assigned branch while fulfilling additional oversight responsibilities across their region.
Essential Functions:
Compliance
- Ensure all Money Laundering and Compliance regulations outlined in the CXI Compliance Procedure Manual are consistently adhered to by all Branch Managers and staff.
- Coordinate with Branch Managers to ensure all new employees in the region complete and pass the Compliance Exam prior to working independently.
- Serve as the primary approver for all transactions exceeding $5,000 USD within the region.
- Function as the secondary approver for all potential OFAC matches within the region.
- Notify Retail Compliance of any significant changes in wholesale customer activity.
Operations
- Coordinates interbranch cash movements when operational needs arise, ensuring internal courier activity is done safely and in accordance with CXI procedures. - Provide courier support to nearby agent locations when operationally required, ensuring transport is performed securely and in compliance with CXI policies.
- Update the Main Office regarding material changes affecting wholesale customers within the region.
- Function as the primary approver for rate change requests submitted by branches within the region, ensuring adherence to approved margins and CXI policies.
- Regularly review store KPIs, establish regional goals, and track performance in coordination with Retail Management.
- Provide ongoing operational updates and feedback to the VP, Retail Operations and Managing Director.
Security
- Coordinate with Branch Managers and IT to ensure all surveillance cameras, monitoring systems, and recording software are fully operational.
- Oversee Branch Managers in conducting monthly alarm system tests to ensure proper functionality.
- Confirm with Branch Managers and monitoring vendors that call lists and passwords are accurate and updated following any staffing changes.
- Ensure Branch Managers update locks, access codes, electronic combinations, and other security credentials as required after employee departures.
- Ensure adherence to all CXI retail security policies.
- Provide regular communication to Branch Managers regarding security expectations and ensure timely resolution of all identified security concerns.
- Complete weekly branch monitoring through review of camera footage and submission of required Microsoft forms.
Retail
- Ensure Branch Managers train and coach tellers in accordance with the CXI Retail Procedure Manual.
- Coordinate with Branch Managers, VP, and HR to ensure full completion of training requirements for all new employees.
- Provide regular updates to the VP regarding regional retail activities.
- Ensure all branches within the region meet performance expectations and operate within approved budgets.
- Approve regional scheduling to ensure proper staffing coverage at all locations and avoid conflicts involving shared employees.
- Arrange coverage for Branch Manager absences due to vacation or illness.
- Work with Branch Managers and VP to establish and maintain inventory targets; follow up on branches that fail to meet these targets.
- Maintain regular communication with landlord representatives for all leased retail locations to ensure satisfaction and proper coordination.
- Ensure referral marketing is completed for all branches within the region, including the Regional Manager’s home branch.
- Approve Branch Manager expense reports in a timely manner.
Human Resources
- Ensure Branch Managers train employees on all CXI procedures and regulations.
- Communicate and document staff issues with HR, the VP, and the Managing Director as appropriate.
- Review and complete Performance Correction Action Form in accordance with provided guidelines and ensure timely submission to HR.
- Participate in screening and interviewing candidates for all locations within the region.
- Conduct quarterly bonus reviews with Branch Managers and submit results to HR and the VP.
- Submit annual salary recommendations for all Branch Managers to the VP and Managing Director for approval, and provide final documentation to HR.

Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- Available to work Monday-Friday 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM (Coverage may be needed other days for Regional Support/Duties).
