SummaryJoin Woodwell Climate’s Facility team as the Facilities Engineer to help maintain the Center’s Campus. The Facilities Engineer is crucial to our organization's ability to serve the community, as it directly contributes to providing a clean, safe, and functional environment for all. In this role, you will be involved in performing daily operations for both the internal and external maintenance of campus buildings, remote sites, coordinating contractors and may perform both routine and emergency repairs. This is a self-motivated position with a strong commitment to safe work practices.Responsibilities include but not limited to:Strong knowledge of building codes, environmental standards, and safety regulations to ensure compliance throughout all design activitiesPerform a range of maintenance and repair tasks on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lightingAssist with plans, designs, and maintains facility infrastructure and equipment to meet the needs of an organizationPerform and document preventive maintenance programs for all mechanical, electrical, and site systems to minimize downtime and extend the life of equipment, including HVAC, building management systems (WebCtrl), lighting, electrical, piping and wastewaterUtilizes CAD software and engineering principles to design and communicate specifications for facility modifications, new development, or equipment Contributes to updates for systems drawing, documentation and procedures for site systems and equipment under their purview or as assignedProvides repair recommendations and oversees system upgrades, preventative / seasonal maintenance for site systems or as assigned by managementActively maintains inventory for engineering systems parts, system accessories, auxiliary equipment and maintenance routines through Woodwell’s proceduresResearches and sources the equipment and materials required for the facility, verifying specification requirements and adherence to budget allotment Identifies contractors that align with Woodwell’s mission to work on improvements, renovations, maintenance, grounds, construction repairs, inspections, and other tasks as neededWoodwell committee participant as requested by departments or as assigned by managementPerform routine maintenance: carpentry, dry-wall, painting, and minor equipment repairs and general grounds maintenance, landscaping and snow removalCommunicates with Woodwell staff and visitors on site layout, facilities related activities, policy and procedureParticipant in periodic janitorial service for Woodwell spaces: common spaces, kitchens, offices and restroomsSupports and staffs Woodwell events: internal and externalParticipant in off-hour response (On-Call)Report the the Director of FacilitiesMust have the following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Experience working within a Preventive Maintenance (PM) Program and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or equivalent.Working knowledge base in various trades disciplines and a proven track record of working independently to ensure our building systems and equipment operate safely and efficientlyPossesses intermediate knowledge of building codes, environmental standards, and safety regulations to ensure compliance throughout all design activitiesExperience with plans, designs, maintenance of facility infrastructure and equipment to meet the needs of an organizationCAD software and engineering principles experienceStrong set of software, technical skills and intermediate soft skills that allow them to work independently on more complex projectsGeneration of project requirements and Request for Proposal (RFP) to establish facility CAPEx and estimate design costsExperience with grounds care and building maintenance, office building cleaning, shipping and receiving experience Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, pushing, climbing, work with motorized equipment in varying weather conditions Excellent communication and organization skills Vocational/technical training and trade license or certification preferredWilling and able to be on call hours
Qualifications:2+ years of experienceBachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management or relevant field

However, this is a salaried position. Therefore, the individual is expected to work as required to complete the duties of the position. This will include occasional weekend work.Application review will begin ongoing Desired Start Date: December 2025Classification and Compensation: This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position, the annual salary range starting at $70,000 dependent on qualifications/experience.
