About This Position

Description:

Position Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy. This is a key role in our financial operations, ensuring precision, compliance, and maintaining GAAP standards. As a member of the finance team, you’ll have the opportunity to support strategic decision-making, drive efficiency and improve processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Maintain GAAP-compliant financial statements and support continuous improvement of accounting policies
  • Manage the full fixed asset lifecycle, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation schedules, and reconciliation of fixed asset subledgers
  • Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with financial insights and analysis
  • Ensure compliance with multi-jurisdiction regulatory and reporting requirements, including state, federal, and international accounting standards as applicable
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (FP&A, Operations, HR, etc.) to support business decisions
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to inquiries
  • Streamline accounting processes and implement efficiencies through automation or system improvements
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of accounting experience (public or private)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and audit best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, Netsuite, SAP)
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize competing tasks, and work independently
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Sponsorship may be considered for qualified candidates in compliance with applicable laws.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA candidate or certification is a plus
  • Experience in the retail or furniture industry is a bonus
