About This Position

Description:

Title McDonald’s Engagement Manager

Salary Band 9

Mission & Vision

The mission of RMHC Triangle is to provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare. Our vision is a world where every family has what they need to ensure the best health outcomes for their children.

Organization

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Triangle provides a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill or injured children from across North Carolina and beyond who are receiving specialized medical care at Triangle NC area hospitals. With 103 bedrooms, Ronald McDonald Houses located in or near UNC, Duke, and WakeMed Children’s Hospitals provide residential hospitality, meals, and social support while keeping families together during their child’s medical crisis, easing their financial burdens and providing stability. Ronald McDonald Family Room programs at our partner hospitals provide additional in-hospital support of community volunteers and donors. www.RMHCTriangle.org

RMHC has an operating budget of approximately $6 million, primarily funded by philanthropic gifts. Annually, between 10 – 15% of RMHC’s total donations received are from McDonald’s-related sources. The remaining contributions are received from the broader community including individuals, companies, organizations and foundations, as well as from RMHC signature and community events.

Position Description

The McDonald’s Engagement Manager plays an important role in the RMHC relationship with McDonald’s, our founding and forever mission partner. The manager reports to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and provides leadership, direction, implementation, and evaluation for all McDonald’s funding strategies such as purchase-enabled gifts (Happy Meals, French Fry Program, Shamrock Shakes) and customer-facilitated giving (Round-Up, donation box, fixed donations). Additionally, the manager works directly with the business unit and individual McDonald’s Owner/Operators on local engagement with RMH such as through event sponsorships.

This position serves as RMHC’s primary point of contact with McDonald’s at all levels, including the field office, business unit, owner/operators, vendors, and customers. In carrying out this work, the manager will work collaboratively with McDonald’s advertising and PR agencies, volunteers, and RMHC Development Team members.

This position is housed in the RMH Chapel Hill House with some remote work possible. The Manager will be an active member of and will work closely with the RMH Development Team. This position will be a member of the Impact Team and participate in other internal meetings as well as help at all signature RMH events. The Manager will also work closely with volunteer leaders, including the Resource Development Committee.
