Students in grades K–12 adhere to a structured dress code and attend school for 200 instructional days each year. The Paraprofessional plays a key role in supporting student achievement by actively engaging learners and helping maintain a structured, productive classroom environment. This position supports instructional activities under the direction of a classroom teacher and assists with non-instructional responsibilities under the supervision of an Assistant Director.

• Support classroom instruction and collaborate closely with the classroom teacher

• Assist with classroom management using an assertive discipline model and effective redirection strategies

• Uphold and enforce school policies and expectations

• Provide support during group and independent work periods

• Reinforce positive learning behaviors (e.g., attentiveness, engagement, organization)

• Lead small-group instruction in reading, language, math, writing, reasoning, and/or spelling, as assigned

• Monitor student progress and provide targeted support to those needing additional assistance

• Assist with grading, recording, and tracking student work as directed by the teacher

• Help students correct work, answer questions, and engage in reading activities

• Track incomplete assignments and communicate with the teacher as needed

• Administer assessments, checkouts, or retests as directed

• Participate in assigned duties, including morning arrival, lunch/recess, and dismissal

• Attend Back-to-School Night and other required school events

• Participate in professional development and ongoing training

• Perform additional duties as assigned by members of the Leadership Team

• High school diploma required

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and draw sound conclusions

• Ability to work in alignment with school policies and all applicable state and federal regulations

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment

• Strong instructional support and classroom management skills

• Successful completion of applicable MTEL exams within one year of employment

This position is evaluated annually and is an annual appointment.
