Senior Geotechnical Engineer at Ninyo & Moore – Austin, Texas

Job Description: Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company has an opening for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer in Austin, Texas. The successful candidate will assist in marketing/business development including but not limited to, preparation of geotechnical proposals including scope of services and proposed fees, assisting in compilation of RFQ/RFP documentation and responding to technical questions for various solicitations during pre-bidding and bidding phases of projects. The candidate will prepare and manage/oversee geotechnical projects and be responsible for preparation of geotechnical evaluation reports; will attend project meetings with the project stakeholders on an as-needed basis, maintain client relationships, and work directly with the clients to assure the successful project completion. The candidate will also mentor junior staff; provide leadership, provide ongoing training to engineering staff; provide direction and review of engineering work products prepared by others, will keep himself/herself up-to-date with latest geotechnical survey/measurement/analyses techniques, instrumentation, industry standards or guidelines; review and sign geotechnical proposals and reports on behalf of the company.

Education: PE license, B.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering required; M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with geotechnical emphasis preferred.

Required Skills: The successful candidate should be a licensed professional engineer in Texas with 10 years or more of experience in the geotechnical consulting industry performing duties described above. A well-rounded background in geotechnical engineering, strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, and a track record of successful client relationships and service are required. Candidate should have a thorough understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering.
