Under direct supervision performs a variety of projects in accordance with specific instructions and established work procedures. This position is for an undergraduate college level student who is hired to support management with assisting with projects plans and related activities.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Participates in one large project or multiple small projects while in student intern status.
  • Receives project guidelines/instructions from management and delivers within the scope of their responsibility a finalized product.
  • Participates in department activities as required and provides support as needed which may include analysis and research.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:
  • Requires undergraduate college level student with an ability to work independently.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office

Experience/Skills:

Required:
  • Requires good communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must have computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and ask for assistance when needed.
  • Must be willing to learn new skills. Ability to work well with public and staff, and as a team member.


Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field
  • Strong foundational understanding of financial concepts such as budgeting, cost accounting, ROI, and variance analysis
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into financial insights
  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with financial reporting or dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus
  • Ability to work with structured and unstructured data and perform basic data analysis

Technical & Analytical Skills
  • Interest in AI/ML systems and how model performance impacts operational and financial outcomes
  • Ability to track and analyze AI cost drivers (e.g., compute usage, licenses, vendor costs, infrastructure)
  • Understanding of performance metrics (model accuracy, utilization, drift, throughput) and their financial implications

Responsibilities & Capabilities
  • Assist in monitoring the financial performance of AI algorithms and tools against budget and forecast
  • Support development of dashboards and recurring reports linking AI performance to cost and value realization
  • Help track budgets, forecast spend, and identify cost optimization opportunities related to AI initiatives
  • Document assumptions, methodologies, and findings to support transparency and financial governance

Soft Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication, especially when explaining financial data to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with IT, finance, and data science teams
