The environment is dynamic and client-facing, spanning DTC, wholesale, and omnichannel business models. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise combined with a hands-on understanding of inventory-heavy, product-based businesses. It is ideal for a professional who enjoys improving processes, ensuring financial accuracy, and mentoring others in a collaborative, high-growth setting. This position also offers exposure to modern e-commerce ecosystems and complex multi-platform reconciliations.

Accountabilities:
  • Support and oversee month-end close processes across multiple CPG client engagements, including preparation and review of journal entries and supporting schedules.
  • Review and provide detailed feedback on the work of Senior and Staff Accountants, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with client-specific accounting policies.
  • Manage and review inventory accounting processes, including COGS reconciliation, landed cost tracking, purchase order matching, and inventory reserve analysis.
  • Oversee trade spend and promotional activity accounting, including allowances, co-op advertising, slotting fees, and retailer deductions.
  • Review reconciliations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor/customer subledgers spanning multiple sales channels such as DTC, Amazon, and wholesale.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting with variance analysis and commentary.
  • Ensure accurate data flow and reconciliation between e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Amazon Seller Central) and accounting systems such as QuickBooks Online and NetSuite.
  • Support audit preparation, lender reporting, and investor reporting requests while identifying process improvements and system optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with clients on operational accounting workflows, including inventory cycles, 3PL reconciliations, and purchase order processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 8–12 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within consumer packaged goods, retail, or product-based industries.
  • Prior experience in consulting or outsourced accounting environments.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience with ability to review, coach, and improve the work of junior accounting staff.
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting, including COGS, reserves, and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience with e-commerce and ERP systems such as QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Shopify, and Amazon Seller Central.
  • Strong Excel skills, including reconciliations, pivot tables, and reporting models.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex accounting concepts for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple clients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: CPA, CPA candidate, or Master’s in Accounting, with familiarity in tools such as A2X, 3PL systems, and inventory platforms like Katana or Cin7.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range of approximately $99,000 to $130,000 depending on location and experience.
  • Fully remote work flexibility within the United States.
  • Exposure to high-growth consumer brands and venture-backed companies across multiple industries.
  • Opportunity to work in a collaborative, team-oriented outsourced finance practice.
  • Strong career development opportunities within a growing advisory and accounting organization.
  • Access to modern accounting and e-commerce technology ecosystems.
  • Flexible work culture supporting work-life balance and autonomy.
  • Opportunity to mentor junior team members and shape accounting best practices.
