You will lead and develop a high-performing Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team responsible for advancing scientific understanding of precision therapies in rare and complex diseases.
The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership, ensuring consistent, high-quality scientific exchange with Key Opinion Leaders and healthcare professionals.
You will play a key role in shaping field medical strategy, aligning regional execution with broader medical and corporate objectives.
Working closely with cross-functional partners, you will help translate scientific insights from the field into actionable medical and business strategies.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead, recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing field-based Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team across a designated U.S. region.
  • Define and execute regional Field Medical Affairs strategy in alignment with medical leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Set clear performance expectations, goals, and accountability frameworks for individual team members and the broader organization.
  • Oversee development and execution of regional and territory-level medical engagement plans with consistency and appropriate local adaptation.
  • Guide field operations including insights capture, documentation, KOL engagement, and competitive intelligence reporting.
  • Provide continuous coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to support team growth and excellence.
  • Ensure ongoing scientific training and readiness to maintain high-level medical credibility and compliant field interactions.
  • Represent Field Medical Affairs at scientific meetings and collaborate with internal partners to strengthen cross-functional alignment.
  • Manage regional headcount planning and operational budgets in coordination with Medical Operations and Finance.

Requirements:

  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, NP, RN, or MS in a relevant field).
  • 15+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, including significant exposure to hematology, oncology, immunology, or rare diseases.
  • At least 10+ years of experience in field-based roles within medical or commercial functions.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience managing and developing MSL or field medical teams.
  • Strong track record of leading teams through pre-launch and commercial launch environments.
  • Proven ability to translate scientific data into clear field strategies and actionable medical insights.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills with a focus on performance and accountability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage external scientific experts credibly.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional and commercial leadership while maintaining medical independence.
  • High level of scientific acumen with the ability to communicate complex clinical data clearly and effectively.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the United States (50% or more).
