Fabric Operator at MCD Innovations – McKinney, Texas
About This Position
Summary/Objective:
The Fabric Machine Operator is responsible for precision cutting and efficient operation of multiple production machines to manufacture high-quality RV roller shades. This role follows established product specifications, quality standards, and safety guidelines to ensure accurate, timely production while minimizing material waste and supporting overall plant workflow.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Set up, operate, and adjust fabric cutting and related production equipment in accordance with documented procedures, work instructions, and safety standards. Demonstrate the ability to operate multiple machines as required to support production flow, while cutting fabric efficiently to minimize material waste and errors.
- Inspect materials and finished components for quality and accuracy; identify, document, and promptly report defective materials or nonconforming product. Exercise care and attention to detail to avoid mistakes that could result in wasted material.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on assigned machines to ensure safe, efficient operation. Communicate promptly with the maintenance department regarding safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, reduced productivity, or conditions that may lead to major repairs.
- Meet or exceed established daily, weekly, and monthly production goals for both individual machines and the department by producing quality parts with minimal rework and material waste.
- Accurately measure materials and components using tools such as tape measures and gauges to verify length, width, and overall dimensional accuracy; make necessary adjustments to ensure precise machine operation and efficient use of fabric.
- Utilize basic math skills and computer-controlled equipment, including the use of a mouse and keyboard, to input data, adjust settings, and monitor machine performance.
- Actively participate in and, when appropriate, lead continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and cost effectiveness, including initiatives focused on reducing material waste.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. This job will be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibrations. This position will also utilize computers and basic math. This list is not all inclusive.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will frequently need to talk, read, and listen. The role requires standing, walking, climbing stairs, using hands and fingers, reaching, and engaging in repetitive bending and squatting for 8-9 hours a day. The employee must also have the ability to read and understand detailed information, including small print on labels, and perform tasks that require attention to small or intricate details, ensuring accuracy and precision. Additionally, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. demands. In addition, the position will require occasional overtime. In some cases, overtime may be assigned the same day as the need.

Required Education and Experience:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a manufacturing/production environment
