Facilities Cleaning Technician at Buchanan County Health Center – Independence, Iowa

• GENERAL DESCRIPTION

• The Facilities Cleaning Technician will be responsible for the use of specialized equipment and chemicals for maintaining all light fixtures and HVAC vents and for sustaining high standards of cleanliness and dust/bugs free. This position will be responsible for allocating a portion of daily schedule to complete or assist with housekeeping responsibilities associated with the Environmental Services Worker (EVS) position.

  The Environmental Services Worker position involves cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining patient and resident rooms and common areas to prevent the spread of infections and ensure a safe, healthy environment for patients, residents, staff, and visitors. Key responsibilities include proper waste management, sanitizing high-touch surfaces and medical equipment, following strict cleaning protocols for sensitive areas, and adhering to all hospital and regulatory standards for cleanliness and infection control.

• EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
• • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent preferred.
• WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Prior cleaning or janitorial experience preferred.
• Undeterred by exposure to hazardous chemicals, bodily fluids, and communicable and infectious diseases and resilient to noise.
• Excellent communication skills.

Salary Range

$17.00 - $23.80
