An Off Campus Work Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award
This is an off-campus work study position with Albuquerque PublicSchools - located at Kirtland Elementary school. This position requires a workstudy award and pays the hourly rate of $16.50. Duringthe school year, working hours are from 3:15pm - 6:00pm Monday through Friday.
Do you like fun and engaging hands-on activities? So do our elementary school students! After School Tutorsin our before/ after school and summer programs at Kirtland Elementary Schoolwork in supportive teams and tap into their own interests and passions in orderto develop and implement academic tutoring activities. Our staff are seen as our biggest asset and are offered a variety offormal and informal professional development opportunities as well as a voicearound program offerings and activities. We believe in the total development ofour program participants, so we are looking for staff with a wide range ofinterests, experiences and linguistic/ cultural/ educational backgrounds.Reading and Math tutors assist in the development, and implementation ofliteracy, academic and enrichment activities for elementary school student'sleadership and love of learning. If you want to spark a love of learning andact as an example to children/youth, encourage parent and communityinvolvement, and act as an effective member of a team, this is the job for you!
Work with K-5th grade students to:
* Provide structured learning experiences during out-of-schooltime
* Assist students with homework
* Help build math and literacy-based activities that includetechnology, place based education, cultural studies, fine arts/crafts,cooking/math, and service learning
