About the role
Do you want to join an international team eager to reach our vision of zero loss of lives, no injuries or damages caused by fire and gas?
We are looking for a Service and Commissioning Engineer to join our Global Services based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and commissioning fire and safety systems mainly onboard cruise ships, both in operation and under construction at shipyards in Europe. The position includes technical support, assistance, and international travels.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Service and Commissioning Engineer will be:
• Service and repair work onboard ships (mainly cruise ships)
• Commissioning work at shipyards in Europe (newbuilds, cruise ships).
• Technical services, customer support and remote assistance from the office.
• Travelling in the USA, but also globally when it is required.
Qualifications
You demonstrate a customer-oriented attitude, can work independently, but can easily cooperate with others. In addition, you can adjust fast to changing situations and own the responsibility for the results. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in electronics/automation and a strong technical understanding of IT systems, enabling them to service and commission our fire alarm systems effectively. Basic qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with Electronics/Automation systems.
- Ability to maintain a valid International Passport and travel up to 70% of the time in the US and Caribbean, but also Global.
- Must be physically fit to perform duties that involve climbing numerous stairs, using a ladder to embark/disembark ships, and work efficiently in narrow spaces.
- Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment over 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/ Automation/ IT (Network administration related)
- 2+ years’ experience Servicing Maritime Fire Detection Systems.
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience.
- Microsoft, Linux, Unix Systems practical experience.
- Knowledge of networked systems (Redundancy, HUB`s, switches, optical)
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repair of hardware and software
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience from marine industry.
