This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Storage Engineering Manager in United States.

This is a senior technical leadership role focused on guiding and scaling a high-performing storage engineering team. You will oversee the design, development, and operational excellence of high-performance computing (HPC) storage systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and customer readiness. This role combines hands-on engineering oversight, architecture leadership, and people management, providing a chance to influence both technical direction and team culture. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, drive strategic technical decisions, and mentor engineers while maintaining a focus on delivery and operational readiness. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment, balancing technical excellence with leadership and process discipline. Success in this position directly impacts system stability, customer satisfaction, and long-term storage strategy.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of storage and filesystem engineers, fostering a culture of accountability, ownership, and operational excellence
  • Oversee technical execution for releases, including backlog planning, sprint execution, quality assurance, and on-time delivery
  • Drive architecture, design reviews, and technical decision-making for HPC storage features, integrations, and operational tooling
  • Partner with product, program, system engineering, QA, and customer teams to translate requirements into executable plans
  • Ensure customer-facing engineering outcomes, including acceptance readiness, performance tuning, and rapid response to escalations
  • Establish and improve engineering processes such as secure development practices, CI/CD, code review, and defect prevention
  • Manage dependencies across platform components and ensure compatibility across supported environments
  • Communicate status, risks, and tradeoffs to leadership while driving cross-team alignment and resolution

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading teams as a manager or technical lead
  • Hands-on experience with HPC storage or parallel/distributed filesystems (e.g., Lustre), with knowledge of storage/network performance fundamentals
  • Proven ability to drive software quality: CI/testing strategies, release management, defect triage, and operational excellence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of aligning stakeholders and articulating risks, tradeoffs, and timelines
  • Preferred: experience deploying or operating Lustre in large-scale production, data management workflows, Linux packaging, and storage hardware/software integrations
  • Leadership skills: setting priorities, modeling engineering judgment, mentoring talent, promoting operational discipline, and building high-functioning teams

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range based on location (USD 161,500 - 370,500 annually)
  • Remote-first work environment with flexibility to manage work-life balance
  • Comprehensive health, wellness, and financial benefits for you and your family
  • Career development opportunities including mentorship, skill growth, and succession planning
  • Inclusive culture that values diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and innovative thinking
  • Access to advanced HPC storage projects and cutting-edge technology initiatives
