This role offers the opportunity to lead cross-functional teams in designing, building, and delivering high-impact digital products for a major government agency. You will define product strategy, translate user and stakeholder needs into actionable roadmaps, and guide teams through iterative development to ensure secure, efficient, and user-centered solutions. The position combines technical product expertise, human-centered design principles, and strategic decision-making in a collaborative, remote-friendly environment. You will work closely with engineers, designers, researchers, and government stakeholders to create solutions that preserve and provide secure access to critical historical records. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills are essential to navigate technical and bureaucratic challenges while delivering measurable outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead cross-functional teams of designers, engineers, researchers, and subject matter experts to deliver impactful digital products
  • Define and execute product strategy, vision, objectives, success metrics, and roadmaps
  • Translate user and partner needs into prioritized features, product backlogs, and release plans
  • Facilitate team ceremonies including planning sessions, stakeholder syncs, and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with government teams to share digital expertise and ensure seamless integration with existing systems
  • Use data and feedback to inform product decisions, make trade-offs, and adjust priorities as needed
  • Navigate complex regulatory and bureaucratic environments creatively, simplifying processes and driving results
Requirements:
  • Proven technical product experience, including APIs, system services, and pipelines
  • Strong understanding and application of lean product principles, MVP development, and outcome-focused roadmaps
  • Ability to define problems clearly, establish success criteria, and guide teams through iterative development
  • Skilled in stakeholder management and client-facing communication to build trust and alignment
  • Knowledge of human-centered design and cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile or Lean
  • Experience managing products in technical environments, including cloud operations and maintenance
  • Ability to obtain a federal public trust (Tier 2) and work within U.S. territories
  • Eastern Time zone availability and occasional travel as required
  • Preferred: experience in large-scale data migration, archives/records management, consulting, or civic technology
