This leadership role is responsible for building and scaling the Upmarket Account Management organization, driving customer retention, expansion, and value realization across Commercial and Enterprise segments. The Director will lead a team of managers, defining account management methodologies, coaching high-performing teams, and creating repeatable processes to consistently exceed retention and expansion goals. This position offers a strategic and hands-on environment where collaboration with cross-functional teams—including Customer Success, Product, Marketing, and Operations—is key. Candidates will have the opportunity to shape account management practices, influence company-wide revenue strategy, and engage directly with enterprise customers to ensure measurable business impact.
- Build and lead a high-performing Upmarket Account Management team focused on customer value, retention, and expansion.
- Develop account management strategies, playbooks, and repeatable methodologies to drive growth and retention metrics.
- Hire, coach, and mentor managers to achieve individual and team KPIs, including expansion pipeline generation and net retention.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to represent customer needs and influence product, marketing, and operational initiatives.
- Deliver accurate forecasts on retention and expansion performance while ensuring accountability across the team.
- Drive adoption of best practices in account planning, portfolio prioritization, renewal risk management, and value-based customer expansion.
- Represent the organization at customer meetings and industry events, fostering strong client relationships.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of customer-facing experience with at least 5 years managing post-sales teams in a SaaS environment.
- 2+ years managing frontline managers and leading teams serving commercial and enterprise customers.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue retention and expansion targets in North America.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to build relationships across organizational levels.
- Analytical, data-driven decision-making skills with a collaborative mindset.
- Experience in a fast-paced startup or growth-stage SaaS company is highly desirable.
- Passion for customer success and cybersecurity or related technology domains.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
