Pet Support Specialist at SUITEMATE STAFFING SOLUTIONS INC – Dallas, Texas

Schedule:

• Full-time: 40 hours per week
• 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts
• Includes a 1-hour unpaid lunch and two paid 15-minute breaks

Shift Times:

• Monday–Friday: 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM
• Saturday–Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (based on scheduled days)
• Evenings, weekends, and holidays are required
• Two days off per week (not always consecutive)
• Employees should expect to work at least one weekend day

The Pet Support department is responsible for shelter admissions, lost pet reunifications, and providing pet/owner support to help prevent shelter surrender. From assisting with Pet Food Pantry events to helping community members remain compliant with local pet laws, this team plays a key role in many aspects of shelter operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

• Provide excellent customer service to pet owners and community members
• Enter and maintain accurate records in internal systems
• Communicate effectively with a diverse population, including bilingual interactions when needed
• Assist pet owners with resources and guidance to prevent shelter surrender
• Support intake processes, reunifications, and general shelter operations
• Handle sensitive situations with professionalism and de-escalation techniques
• Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Maintain reliability and consistent attendance to support team operations

Minimum Qualifications :

• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Basic computer and data entry proficiency
• Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
• Experience in animal care is a plus
