About This Position
Westerner Park is seeking a motivated and organized HR Administrative Assistant (Canada Summer Jobs) to join our Human Resources team. This temporary, full-time role provides essential support for HR and Volunteer functions, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and an exceptional internal customer experience.
As a key member of our HR team, the HR Administrative Assistant contributes to recruitment, onboarding, HR projects, and general administrative duties, helping Westerner Park deliver an outstanding workplace for our employees and volunteers.
Position OverviewReporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, the HR Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting HR operations, administrative functions, and internal communications. This role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting HR initiatives.
Key Areas of Responsibility1. HR Operations & Administrative Support
- Assist with day-to-day HR and Volunteer support activities.
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the Workforce business unit.
- Compile, maintain, and update employee records (both hard and digital copies).
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Assist with recruitment, candidate sourcing, pre-screening, scheduling interviews, and sending offer letters.
- Contribute to HR projects, including the development of training materials and presentations.
- Support front desk administration duties, including answering phones, greeting guests, and general office tasks.
- Assist with report and presentation preparation.
2. Communication & Collaboration
- Coordinate communication with candidates and internal teams.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure HR processes are executed efficiently.
- Adapt to changing priorities and take on additional duties as requested.
- Accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Smooth onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Timely recruitment support and candidate communications.
- Reports and presentations prepared as requested by the HR team.
- Currently attending a business-related post-secondary program, ideally with a Human Resources focus.
- Previous experience in Human Resources or administrative support is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 or similar software; experience creating presentations is beneficial.
- Ability to learn new web-based HR software quickly.
- Positive, professional, and courteous attitude.
- Eligibility for the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
