About This Position
Purpose and Scope
As a part of the quality team, the Quality Inspector must have a keen sense of observation and attention to detail. Inspection requirements are based upon engineering standards, applicable specifications and production procedures to assure product quality. The inspection process includes documentation of findings, ensuring the identification of potential defects, and coordination with internal team members to establish and maintain immediate and long-term solutions. Inspectors must be highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. This position is expected to interact with plant personnel, safety, and maintenance as necessary.
Requirements:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report quality issues or findings to the Quality Manager and follow up to ensure appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
- Execute and adhere to established inspection processes and procedures.
- Identify, document, and control all non-conforming products.
- Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections of tarp and panel materials and products to verify conformance with requirements.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of tooling, gauges, specifications, and procedures.
- Read and interpret blueprints and part drawings accurately.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members and leadership.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to support teamwork and promote best practices.
- Perform all duties safely and appropriately while maintaining high quality standards.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and on time.
- Manage the movement of parts and documentation to other areas as needed.
- File, maintain, and process inspection records and documentation.
- Process and disposition RMAs upon return, both physically and within the MRP system.
- Maintain designated areas for holding non-conforming material and ensure timely disposition.
- Prepare and complete deviation documentation when required.
- Flexibility to work off-shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Meet the minimum requirements for the job and be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Demonstrated intermediate-level skills in math, language, and analytical reasoning.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a self-directed environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Strong sense of urgency with exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to a high level of heat/humidity conditions due to working in a non-climate-controlled facility. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee must be able to stand and walk for long periods up time (up to 8-10 hours per day), reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. Must also be able to bend and twist, as necessary.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
