Position Description:
The Front Desk Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Front Desk team, with a strong focus on exceptional guest service, team leadership, revenue performance, and cost control.
This role leads the Front Desk team in delivering outstanding guest experiences that contribute to strong guest satisfaction scores, including Medallia results related to Front Office operations.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who is organized, service-focused, and able to balance administrative responsibilities with active floor presence and Front Desk coverage as needed.
Full-Time: 40-50 hours per week
Salaried position: $45,000 - $65,000 annually
Key Responsibilities:
This is a general guideline; additional duties may be assigned:
- Oversee daily Front Desk operations, including guest check-in/check-out, reservations, and guest inquiries
- Lead the Front Office team in delivering exceptional guest service and maintaining high guest satisfaction scores
- Assist in achieving monthly and annual occupancy, revenue, and RevPAR goals
- Train, coach, supervise, schedule, and mentor Front Desk team members
- Manage payroll and department supply expenses to meet budgeted cost-per-room goals
- Serve as the primary point of contact for guest concerns related to Front Office operations
- Schedule Shuttle Drivers and Weekend Security Guards
- Monitor and maintain Front Desk inventory, supplies, and equipment
- Oversee Sundry Store inventory, purchasing, and pricing
- Ensure team members are trained on hotel policies, procedures, and service standards
- Promote the Best Western Rewards Program and support team enrollment goals
- Collaborate with the Group Rooms Revenue Manager to effectively manage group blocks, rates, and reservations
- Foster a positive, professional Front Desk culture built on pride, teamwork, attentiveness, and friendliness
- Balance time between management duties and working Front Desk shifts as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience in the hospitality industry required, preferably in a hotel Front Office or similar management role
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in hotel management systems and Microsoft Office
- Flexible schedule, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
