Summary:

The Document Control Specialist operates and participates in the continuous improvement of company document control systems and processes in order to ensure that documents received and generated internally are secure, searchable, and transmitted appropriately both internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

  • Administers and expedite internal and external documents and drawings for assigned deliverables in large and complex Pipe Fabrication projects.
  • Execute all Document Control (DC) processes in compliance with applicable company and project specific procedures and specifications to ensure project deliverables are processed accurately and completely.
  • Maintain a high level of quality and accuracy while executing DC processes including deliverable acceptance, metadata entry and distribution.
  • Document lifecycle management including processing company and project documentation, security, accessibility, and retention
  • Assist with Project Data Handover
  • Use of software for document management including InEight Document as well as all required client-required systems
  • Interact with and support a broad spectrum of personnel internal and external to the company
  • Work effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to add value to the organization

Education and Experience:

  • 1+ years’ experience in Document Control, associated or a related field is preferred.

Specific Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Must have proofreading and editing skills.
  • Experience with a pipe fabrication company.
  • InEight Document (Basic)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Basic)
  • Working knowledge of Revision Standards (Basic) type
  • Document Control procedure (Basic)
  • Equipment List (Intermediate)
  • Microsoft SharePoint (Basic)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to reach, stand, walk, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions.
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
