Position Overview

Align seeks an Audio Visual (AV) Professional to join the AV Consulting practice within an established and expanding IT Services Firm. The Senior AV Technician will have a background in corporate AV that includes hands on AV installation, project coordination, troubleshooting, and some basic programming experience. The Senior AV Engineer must be able to oversee and coordinate AV installations, configure and perform basic programing of AV equipment, provide quality control for AV installations, and do troubleshooting to get corporate AV systems running. Preferred candidates will have worked in similar roles within an AV Integration, AV Consulting or Corporate AV environment.

    This is a full-time position offering a targeted base salary of $100K to $115K, medical, dental, vison, 401K matching, paid training, paid time off, and performance-based bonuses
    This position will be based out of our New York City office; however, this person will be required to work at client locations in the New York metropolitan area. Some travel outside the tri-state area will be necessary within the United States (up to 15 percent).

Responsibilities

    Provide onsite installation and support for Audiovisual systems, conference rooms facilities and collaboration tools
    Manage installation projects, perform troubleshooting, coordinate task for AV installers and quality control of the installed AV equipment
    Work with AV Design Consultants to assist with system design, estimating and BOM
    Work with Senior Project Managers on audio visual (AV) projects, including helping with all phases of design and coordination from budgets, conceptual/schematic design through construction documents
    Configures digital signal processors, A/V switchers, and other devices
    Customizes systems to our end-user's requirements
    Identifies software/hardware issues and troubleshoots them
    Provides support for existing systems
    Receive training and have the opportunity to develop the project management and technical skills to become an AV Design Consultant or a Workplace Technology Project Manager
    Performs all other duties as assigned

Core Qualifications

In summary, we seek a senior AV technician that has advanced troubleshooting and AV installation project coordination experience, that also has some AV programming expertise. The person we hire will have the opportunity to grow into an AV Designer Consultant, AV Project Manager or Workplace Technology Project Manager.

    Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field and 4 to 7 years of corporate AV or conferencing solutions experience
    A background in AV design and or integration, including a very good working knowledge of corporate AV conference room systems
    Able to run AV installations including advanced troubleshooting, coordinating project tasks, supervising AV installers on projects, and performing quality control
    Understand AV system functionality and installation processes and techniques
    Understand technical and construction documents
    Candidate must have some programming experience including the ability to do basic coding and testing, and able to install new AV software and update existing
    Solid experience with Cisco VC Codecs and WebEx conference
    Strong knowledge of Crestron, Extron, Shure and various other AV manufacturers
    Ability to troubleshoot AV issues, know when to escalate to vendor.
    Strong organizational and coordination skills
    Relevant Polycom, Cisco or Crestron experience would be a plus
    Broad, general knowledge of installation tasks related to these technologies:
    Audiovisual system design and implementation
    Telepresence platforms
    Conference tools
    Digital signage
    Television distribution systems

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)

    CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), CTS-D or CTS-I certification is preferred, but any Infocomm / Avixa certification would be beneficial
    Ideal candidates will have experience within anAV Integration or Consulting firm, but this is not required
    Strong background in the solutions and technologies associated with enterprise video services, including but not limited to video conferencing technologies, virtual meeting room designs, infrastructure components
    Basic understanding of IP networking associated with the underlying transport technology for UC and Video - TCP/IP Routing and Switching, voice and video protocols
    AMX Certified Programmer would be a plus
    Extron Authorized Programmer would be a plus
    Extron Control Specialist would be a plus
    Crestron Masters Certified Programmer would be a plus
