In this pivotal role, you will lead the financial reporting and technical accounting function for a fast-growing, multi-entity organization. You will establish robust processes and controls to produce institutional-quality, U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements while guiding the organization on complex accounting matters. The role offers the opportunity to influence external reporting, audit readiness, and M&A initiatives, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and compliance across a dynamic business environment. - Build and manage the external financial reporting process, including the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and management reporting packages.
- Develop and maintain disclosure checklists, financial statement review procedures, and technical accounting memoranda to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Serve as the subject-matter expert on complex accounting topics such as revenue recognition (ASC 606), business combinations (ASC 805), leases (ASC 842), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), foreign currency (ASC 830), and impairments (ASC 350/360).
- Lead audit coordination and serve as the primary contact for external auditors, preparing schedules, representation letters, and supporting documentation.
- Partner with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Legal to support financial reporting, compliance, and special projects, including M&A transactions and system implementations.
- Establish internal controls and SOX-ready processes to ensure rigorous, accurate, and efficient financial reporting.
- Mentor and develop the financial reporting team, creating a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- CPA certification required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience with deep expertise in financial reporting and technical accounting, including public accounting and corporate reporting.
- Proven experience in SEC reporting, 10-K/10-Q preparation, and public-company financial reporting environment.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP across revenue recognition, business combinations, leases, stock-based compensation, and consolidation.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and financial reporting tools (e.g., Workiva/Wdesk).
- Demonstrated ability to research, document, and communicate complex accounting positions with clarity and authority.
- Experience managing audits, external stakeholder reporting, and SOX-compliant controls.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with M&A accounting, integrations, and multi-entity consolidations is a strong plus.
