This role is a high-impact opportunity for a senior frontend engineer passionate about developer experience and platform engineering. You will help shape and evolve the internal engineering platform that empowers product teams to build, ship, and maintain high-quality software efficiently. A key focus of the role is owning and enhancing an internal developer portal built on Backstage, ensuring it scales with engineering needs and long-term system health. You will operate in a highly collaborative environment where clarity of direction exists, but technical execution requires strong ownership, creativity, and architectural judgment. The position combines deep frontend expertise with platform thinking, performance optimization, and system design. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys improving developer productivity and influencing engineering standards across an organization.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and evolving frontend platform capabilities that enhance developer productivity and system reliability:

• Lead end-to-end execution of frontend platform initiatives, from technical design and architecture to implementation and production delivery
• Translate engineering and product objectives into scalable frontend system designs focused on maintainability, performance, and quality
• Own and evolve the internal developer portal (Backstage), including shared libraries and platform UI capabilities
• Identify ambiguity in requirements, proactively assess risks, and de-risk technical solutions before delivery
• Improve long-term codebase health by reducing technical debt, increasing test coverage, and enforcing engineering best practices
• Collaborate on API contracts, performance standards, and system-level trade-offs with cross-functional teams
• Monitor, debug, and resolve production issues while contributing to observability and post-incident improvements
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing to raise team-wide engineering standards
• Ensure technical decisions align with broader product goals, business priorities, and customer impact

Requirements:
The ideal candidate is an experienced frontend/platform engineer with strong technical leadership and deep expertise in modern web systems:

• 5+ years of experience building modern web applications using TypeScript or JavaScript
• 3+ years of experience with React or similar frontend frameworks
• Proven experience leading end-to-end delivery of production frontend features
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and performance optimization
• Experience consuming and influencing RESTful APIs in distributed systems
• Full-stack engineering experience with ability to work across system layers
• Experience debugging and resolving complex production issues
• Strong experience in writing automated tests including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Nice to have: experience with Backstage, NX monorepos, Storybook, Sentry, Playwright, Cypress, CI/CD pipelines, protobuf, gRPC, Golang, or performance benchmarking and optimization
