This role is a high-impact, full-cycle enterprise sales position focused on driving new business within the public sector, helping modernize how government agencies manage travel and spend. The Sr. Account Director, Government will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and closing net-new opportunities across state and local government accounts, primarily within existing contract frameworks and GPO relationships. You will operate as a strategic hunter, building relationships with key decision-makers while navigating complex public sector procurement environments. This position blends outbound prospecting, consultative selling, and in-person client engagement to expand adoption across assigned territories. You will also collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term customer success handoffs. Success in this role requires strong discipline in pipeline management, a deep understanding of government sales cycles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. This is a remote role with occasional travel for client meetings and industry events.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage the full enterprise sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and close for SLED (state, local, and education) accounts.
  • Drive net-new business through high-volume outbound prospecting, cold outreach, and strategic self-sourced pipeline generation.
  • Engage and develop relationships within government agencies and GPO networks to identify and convert new opportunities.
  • Conduct compelling product demonstrations and presentations tailored to public sector stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Legal, Product, Marketing, and Account Management, to ensure seamless deal execution and onboarding.
  • Respond to RFPs and manage procurement processes while maintaining compliance with government requirements.
  • Maintain a disciplined and accurate sales pipeline using CRM and sales engagement tools to ensure forecasting and operational excellence.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of enterprise B2B sales experience with a strong focus on SLED or government accounts.
  • Proven success in full-cycle sales roles with consistent achievement or overachievement of revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, compliance frameworks, and government contracting.
  • Demonstrated hunter mentality with expertise in outbound prospecting and lead generation strategies.
  • Experience using tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, ZoomInfo, Gong, or GovSpend.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex opportunities simultaneously in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
  • Highly self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient with a strong results-driven mindset.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and conferences as required.
Benefits:
  • Total on-target earnings (OTE) between $143,000 and $180,000 USD, including base salary and variable compensation
