Scope of Position:
The Director, Plant Operations will be responsible for production performance, safety, quality, workforce leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role that requires strong daily presence on plant floor, decisive communication, and the ability to build accountability across teams while reinforcing clear expectations, operational discipline, and high-performance standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily plant operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency goals are met
- Develop and implement production programs such as training, safety, etc.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving throughput, and increasing operational efficiency in alignment with company profitability goals
- Establish and monitor KPIs (safety, quality, scrap, productivity, downtime, labor efficiency)
- Lead and mentor a team of Production Supervisors
- Address production performance and safety issues promptly
- Foster a culture of respect, open communication, and collaboration
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Partner with cross functional teams to maintain product standards and reduce defects
- Analyze operational data to drive informed decision-making
Qualifications
Required:
- 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience
- 3+ years in a Plant Manager or senior operations leadership role
- Demonstrated experience establishing structure operations through process discipline and performance accountability
- Experience managing supervisors and multi-shift operations
- Strong working knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
- Proven success driving measurable operational improvements
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
- Experience supporting organizations with $20–$50 million in annual revenue strongly preferred
- Graphic Arts knowledge is preferred
