General
The Community Engagement Coordinator works under the direction of the Community Engagement Manager to generate a strong public awareness of the organization through community outreach events, web-based media, and print media.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates, prioritizes, and works shifts at multiple outreach events, including but not limited to festivals, fairs, corporate events, and puppy/kitten excursion requests; and works with other development team members to ensure appropriate staffing for these events.
- Ensures that outreach bins and other outreach materials are properly stocked and up to date before use at outreach events.
- Works closely with the Community Engagement Manager to ensure our online and community presence is engaging, up-to-date, and aligned with our brand and mission.
- Responsible for highlighting events, animal stories, and daily operations through photography and video.
- Collaborates with Community Engagement Manager to write, edit, and design materials such as newsletters, e-newsletters, e-blasts, brochures, fliers, annual reports, and other informational materials and news releases.
- Assists the Community Engagement Manager with the creation of social media and web-based content for the organization, assuring the site content is updated regularly, and assuring the marketing strategy follows the brand guidelines.
- Collaborates with other staff, volunteers, and the community to create compelling stories that feature our life-saving programs and resources.
- Coordinates with the development team on marketing, fundraising initiatives, and special events.
Other Duties:
- Attend weekly Development meetings, weekly one-on-one meetings with direct supervisor, and quarterly all-staff meetings.
- Assists with planning and implementing fundraising events as deemed appropriate.
- Assists the Community Engagement Manager with larger marketing projects and advertising initiatives.
- Works closely with other Alliance departments to fulfill organizational marketing needs.

- Learns basic duties of other departments and supports other departments and staff.
- Monitors, supports, motivates, and accredits volunteers and their work.
- Understands and operates by Animal Friends Alliance’s Core values.
- Regular and timely presence on-site.
Work Environment:
- Work performed in an office setting

Education/Experience:
Education
- Required: 2 years of college or equivalent work experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in marketing/public relations, community relations, education or equivalent degree.
Experience:
- Required: One years experience in marketing/public relations or community relations.
- Preferred: Three years experience in marketing/public relations or community relations.
Miscellaneous
- Valid Driver’s License: Required

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Google Suite, including Gmail and Google Drive.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Knowledge of Canva or Adobe software
- Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok
