Job Description
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Embedded Senior Hardware Engineer in Netherlands.
This role is designed for a highly autonomous and experienced hardware engineer who can take full ownership of complex embedded hardware projects from concept through validation and deployment. You will be responsible for driving end-to-end hardware design, including schematic development, component selection, bring-up, and system debugging in a highly technical environment. The position requires strong independence, structured engineering thinking, and the ability to make critical design decisions with minimal supervision. You will collaborate with distributed teams across hardware, software, FPGA, and manufacturing disciplines to ensure robust system integration. The environment is highly technical and execution-focused, requiring strong documentation, clear communication, and disciplined problem-solving. This is an opportunity to work on challenging engineering problems with significant ownership and visibility across the full product lifecycle.
- Own hardware design activities across the full lifecycle, including schematic design, component selection, board bring-up, validation, failure analysis, and long-term sustaining support.
- Develop and execute structured bring-up plans, validation strategies, test procedures, and detailed technical documentation.
- Perform hands-on hardware debugging and local board bring-up using lab equipment, while coordinating additional testing through remote or centralized labs.
- Collaborate closely with distributed teams including hardware, software, FPGA, systems, manufacturing, and lab engineers to ensure seamless integration.
- Analyze test data, identify root causes of hardware issues, and document findings and corrective actions clearly and systematically.
- Present and defend designs during technical reviews, milestone checkpoints, readiness assessments, and engineering surveys.
- Communicate technical decisions, design trade-offs, risks, and project status in a clear and structured manner.
- Support embedded firmware development in C/C++ for hardware validation, including peripheral configuration (GPIO, I²C, SPI, UART, ADCs, timers).
- Assist with FPGA system integration by interpreting existing HDL code and supporting basic debugging or minor updates when required.
- 6+ years of proven experience in digital and mixed-signal hardware design.
- Strong hands-on experience with board bring-up, hardware debugging, and system-level validation.
- Ability to write embedded firmware in C/C++ to support hardware testing and validation activities.
- Familiarity with FPGA systems and HDL (VHDL/Verilog) for integration and debug purposes.
- Experience participating in and presenting during technical design reviews and engineering milestone discussions.
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts and decisions.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- High level of autonomy and self-management in remote or distributed team environments.
- Comfortable working in a high-trust, execution-focused engineering culture.
- Competitive salary aligned with senior-level embedded engineering expertise.
- Remote or flexible working arrangements depending on project requirements.
- Opportunity to take full technical ownership of complex hardware systems.
- Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware, software, and FPGA domains.
- Involvement in end-to-end product lifecycle development with high-impact engineering challenges.
