This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an AVP, Credit Officer JCIB in Netherlands.
This is a senior credit risk role within a global banking environment, focused on assessing, monitoring, and managing credit risk across a portfolio of Japanese corporate clients in investment banking. You will operate as part of a second line of defense function, ensuring that credit decisions are sound, well-documented, and aligned with internal risk appetite and regulatory requirements. The role requires deep analytical capability combined with strong stakeholder engagement, as you will work closely with front office teams, senior management, and international credit counterparts. You will contribute to portfolio oversight by identifying early warning signals, assessing trends, and supporting proactive risk mitigation. In addition, you will play a key role in shaping credit recommendations that influence strategic business decisions. This position offers exposure to a complex, cross-border financial environment with significant visibility and impact.
- Assess corporate finance credit proposals within the Japanese Corporate Investment Banking portfolio, identifying key risk factors and preparing recommendations for senior management approval.
- Monitor and analyze credit risk across the portfolio, identifying early warning signs of deterioration in individual exposures.
- Evaluate market, sector, and portfolio-level developments that may impact credit risk and overall portfolio performance.
- Maintain ongoing communication with front office teams and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on credit assessments and risk considerations.
- Collaborate with global credit divisions to support transaction analysis and ongoing risk monitoring.
- Participate in credit risk committees and internal governance forums, contributing to decision-making and portfolio oversight.
- Provide credit perspective input on strategic discussions, client developments, and product-related initiatives.
- Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, delegated authority frameworks, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial services with exposure to credit risk, lending, or credit analysis.
- Strong understanding of credit approval processes, risk assessment frameworks, and regulatory expectations.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret financial statements and assess corporate creditworthiness.
- Strong communication skills in English (mandatory) and Japanese (preferred).
- High level of independence, accountability, and ability to work in a structured risk environment.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
