Accountabilities:
  • Assess corporate finance credit proposals within the Japanese Corporate Investment Banking portfolio, identifying key risk factors and preparing recommendations for senior management approval.
  • Monitor and analyze credit risk across the portfolio, identifying early warning signs of deterioration in individual exposures.
  • Evaluate market, sector, and portfolio-level developments that may impact credit risk and overall portfolio performance.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with front office teams and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on credit assessments and risk considerations.
  • Collaborate with global credit divisions to support transaction analysis and ongoing risk monitoring.
  • Participate in credit risk committees and internal governance forums, contributing to decision-making and portfolio oversight.
  • Provide credit perspective input on strategic discussions, client developments, and product-related initiatives.
  • Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, delegated authority frameworks, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial services with exposure to credit risk, lending, or credit analysis.
  • Strong understanding of credit approval processes, risk assessment frameworks, and regulatory expectations.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and assess corporate creditworthiness.
  • Strong communication skills in English (mandatory) and Japanese (preferred).
  • High level of independence, accountability, and ability to work in a structured risk environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, and ability to balance risk with business opportunity.
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary aligned with experience and market standards.
  • 13th-month salary and 8% holiday allowance.
  • 30 days of annual leave, with option to purchase additional leave.
  • Commuting allowance or travel reimbursement.
  • Remote work compensation and home office support budget.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid and international remote options (subject to policy).
  • Pension scheme with employer contribution.
  • Training and development opportunities supported by the organization.
  • Wellness benefits including mental health workshops and learning budgets.
  • Access to employee programs such as fitness, bicycle plan, and home office equipment support.
  • Opportunity to work in a global, multicultural banking environment with strong career development pathways.
