Job Description

Technical Director, Media & Entertainment AI Infrastructure

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Technical Director, Media & Entertainment AI Infrastructure in the United States.

This is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role at the intersection of advanced AI infrastructure and the global media & entertainment ecosystem. You will help define how next-generation cloud and GPU infrastructure powers demanding workloads such as VFX, gaming, generative AI, and large-scale content production. Operating as a strategic partner to CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and platform leaders, you will translate complex production challenges into scalable infrastructure solutions. You will work across cutting-edge technologies including distributed systems, high-performance compute, and AI inference optimization. The role is highly field-driven, requiring deep engagement with strategic partners and enterprise customers. You will directly influence product and engineering direction by feeding real-world insights back into the core platform. This position is ideal for a builder who thrives in ambiguity and wants to shape the future of AI-native infrastructure for creative industries.

Accountabilities:
  • Architect and own end-to-end AI infrastructure solutions for strategic media and entertainment partners, including studio pipelines, generative AI deployments, and large-scale content production systems.
  • Translate business and operational challenges into precise, production-ready technical requirements, identifying optimization opportunities across cost, performance, and scalability.
  • Conduct deep forensic analysis of customer infrastructure needs, uncovering root bottlenecks and defining targeted engineering interventions.
  • Develop reference architectures and integration standards for critical ISV tools across VFX, rendering, and AI-driven content workflows.
  • Collaborate with ISV engineering teams to validate, optimize, and publish best-practice implementations on cloud infrastructure.
  • Influence internal product and engineering roadmaps by bringing structured field insights and technical evidence from enterprise customers.
  • Lead technical alignment sessions with executive stakeholders and contribute to quarterly strategic product and engineering planning forums.
Requirements:
  • 12+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, platform engineering, or related technical domains.
  • Deep expertise in AI infrastructure, including GPU architectures (H100, L40s or equivalent), Kubernetes orchestration, high-performance storage systems, and advanced networking (InfiniBand/Ethernet).
  • Strong background in inference optimization, including batch processing, quantization, KV caching, latency tuning, and high-throughput model serving.
  • Proven experience engaging at executive level with CTOs, VPs of Engineering, and technical decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and ship production-grade infrastructure solutions in complex, ambiguous environments.
  • Strong product mindset with the ability to define platform strategy and make trade-offs between flexibility, scalability, and technical debt.
  • Forensic engineering approach with strong debugging, system-level analysis, and performance optimization skills.
  • Industry experience in media & entertainment domains such as gaming, VFX, AdTech, or generative AI ecosystems is highly preferred.
  • Bonus: Hands-on experience with studio pipelines, render farms, or large-scale content production infrastructure.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package with estimated OTE ranging from $295,000 to $365,000 USD, plus equity based on experience.
  • 100% company-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their families.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with up to 4% company match and immediate vesting.
  • Paid parental leave: 20 weeks for primary caregivers and 12 weeks for secondary caregivers.
  • Remote work support including monthly reimbursement for internet and mobile expenses.
  • Company-paid short-term, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage.
  • Flexible remote-first work environment with travel (10–20%) for key meetings and industry events.
  • Strong focus on professional growth, innovation, and cutting-edge AI infrastructure development.
